Stress

Sorry I haven't been able to blog anything exciting this week, I had to get an assignment done for my post graduate course - this was me earlier today (boring weekend!)


...so I thought I would do a short post on assignments now I have submitted it (yay)!


I don't know about everyone else but I get SO stressed so easy when doing assignments or exam preparation (just ask my boyfriend - he hates me at this time...) 

But I'm here to tell you that you can do it!

Everything always seems so daunting at the start but it is important to remember you can only try your best. I know it really really sucks when you don't get the best grade or you feel like you tried so hard and still didn't do well but it ultimately doesn't matter. I know it feels like the end of the world but education isn't for everyone.

Everyone always says to me "as long as you tried your best"

Which actually really annoys me!

I don't know if everyone else does this but I always say to myself after I don't get the grade I wanted that I could have pushed harder. Even though at the time I felt like I was doing all I could.

It's not the end of the world if things don't turn out how we imagined (that's the exciting thing about life) everything will work out.

I was so disappointed with the grade I got at university, I cried for weeks and I was going to appeal my grade but then I realised it really doesn't matter. That path wasn't for me... and I probably wouldn't be where I am today - doing my post graduate diploma - if I got the grade I wanted.

Ultimately - I wouldn't change my experiences for the world and neither should you!

Doing my A-levels I pushed myself right to breaking point, I was so unhappy with everything and it all came from the stress of trying to do so well at college. I was obsessed. It felt like it was all that mattered. It was unhealthy...

There is a limit to how hard you can push yourself and we need to push to the end to achieve our best but not over the line. It's only you that knows where that line is so don't listen to anyone that tries to force you to do more or to do less - do whatever you feel comfortable with.

It's so important to take breaks and go out and enjoy your time with your friends because it all changes when you get older! If you feel stressed take a break! Go for a walk and get some fresh air or go see your friends or family. Don't over-work yourself into a bad place (because you'll probably end up getting even less done than if you took regular breaks because you're too stressed to concentrate!)

& who cares if you over-eat for a couple of days because snacking helps you to concentrate - I know it certainly helps me!


[I went for a walk today and the beautiful scenery made me feel so much more relaxed. I also had a bath with radox muscle therapy (because it turns the bath pink!) and lit some candles, followed by this scrummy Cadbury hot chocolate when I had finished. It took all my stresses away for sure.]

Ultimately your health is more important than your career because if you don't have health you won't have a career.

My best advice would be to organise your exam revision and plan out assignments so you don't feel so overwhelmed. It really does help and I hope this post helped some of you. Let me know if you have had any experiences like this and what helps you de-stress.
